After his banishment, Calvin lived and worked quietly and happily in Strasburg, for three years. In Strasburg he married Idelette de Bure. He was a minister of a small congregation of French refugees. Now he also had time to study. He also published a second, extended edition of his Institutes. He also started to write a series of commentaries on the books of the Bible. Also the first edition of the Genevan Psalter with nineteen psalms and three songs was published in French, intended for use in the worship services.
