Pilgrims and Stewards

Calvin used two metaphors to explain what a Christian life on earth is like. The first metaphor is that Christians are like pilgrims. This is because the definition of a pilgrim is travelers without a fixed residence. So Christians shouldn`t be too much taken up with earthly things. Because Christians have to realize and bear in mind that they are travelling towards the Kingdom of heaven.  However they ae still allowed to enjoy the gifts of God on earth. The second metaphor is about stewards, Calvin said that after all we aren`t owners of the earth but stewards. Because the Lord will one day ask you to give an accountant of the way we dealt with the gifts of God.
